3x Early Original Kangaroo Engravings in period style timber frames (i) A ‘Kanguroo’ – Holland’s Kangaroo A copper engraving after Stubbs from the French edition of Cook’s First Voyage, published Paris 1744. The artist Stubbs reconstructed a skin supplied by Joseph Banks, then used it as a model. 23 x 19cm (ii) ‘Kangaroo’ Published Lond. 1802 in Barrington’s ‘History of NSW’ A kangaroo picking oak leaves as a meal for joeys! 19 x 11cm Hand coloured. (iii) ‘Il Canguro Gigante’ A Kangaroo A lithograph from Frederic Cuvier’s Dictionary of Natural Sciences 1824. From an Italian version published in 1847 – ‘Dizionario Delle Science Naturali’ Hand coloured. 45 x 30cm
