           Sculptural artwork, 1977

           Perspex, chrome and alloy

           Signed and dated ’77 verso

           75.5 x 75.5cm

           $1,000 – 1,800

           Note on the artist:

Timor Hubay was an industrial and interior designer

who also had a career as an artist and sculptor. He

studied at Royal Melbourne Institute for Technology

and in 1989 wrote “The Australian Interior Design

Manual” which soon became a standard text for all

up-coming designers. His biggest and most public

commission was the radical refurbishment of the

old IXL Jam Factory in Melbourne for Village Cinemas.

His deliberate in-your-face-kitsch was in step with the

current trends and a refreshing break from the

normally conventional interior designs favoured by

           commercial developers.
